Nick Chan, MH, JP, lawyer and lawmaker with the computer science background, is the Chairman of the Legal Committee of the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce and a Partner of Squire Patton Boggs, a top ten most global law firm with 40+ offices in 25 countries around the world.
He regularly advises on AI, big data, smart data, cyber security, data privacy, ArtTech, EduTech, ESG, FinTech, LawTech, metaverse, PropTech, V2X and other technology-related PE/VC projects. Mr. Chan served as Council Member and Chairman of Knowledge Transfer Committee of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. He is the Council Member of Chinese University of Hong Kong. He serves as Honorary Legal Advisor of Federation of Hong Kong Industries, the Hong Kong O2O E-Commerce Federation, Hong Kong PropTech Association, the Smart City Consortium, and other trade associations. He serves on the advisory committee of the HKSAR Innovation and Technology Venture Fund. He lead the operations of a LawTech company that secured $150M funding. He teaches LawTech, Innovation, Entrepreneurship, SmartCity, Metaverse and Openverse at City University. He is also an elected serving Hong Kong Deputy to the 14th National People’s Congress of the People’s Republic of China.
